Local Plan Responses Published

Today Horsham District Council released an Initial Outcomes Report on the Horsham District Local Plan, which provides the number and type of responses made during the consultation phase that closed at the end of March 2020.

We are gratified to see that the council’s Rookwood proposal received over 474 objections, second only to Mayfield. This shows the strength of feeling in the Horsham area given that Mayfield has been discussed for many years while Rookwood appeared out of nowhere just a few weeks before the local plan consultation commenced.

Building on Rookwood will provide the smallest number of dwellings of any strategic site and becomes by far the least favoured option when we take account of the land area or number of dwellings as we show below.

The people of Horsham District have made their feelings known
