Rookwood declared an “Asset of Community Value”

It was announced last week that Horsham Society’s application for Rookwood Golf Course to be listed as an “Asset of Community Value” has been accepted.

Following a lot of hard work by Horsham Society, KRGA and other dedicated volunteers, the Society were able to draw together a large amount of evidence in support of their application. This included the findings from the KRGA Survey where over 1600 local town residents described the value of Rookwood to them.

Sadly , this award doesn’t safeguard Rookwood’s future but it is hoped this will provide additional protection from development, and it does show that HDC recognise the importance of the site and the unprecedented strength of feeling within Horsham to the proposed development.
