Wilder Horsham Partnership
Just a few months ago, In December 2019, HDC Councillors voted to approve the Wilder Horsham District partnership with the Sussex Wildlife Trust. The HDC announcement says:
The aim of the partnership is to ensure that the District’s natural environment is enhanced and protected so that it remains an attractive place to live, work and visit. It will work to reverse the decline in species and habitats across the District, as well as contribute to tackling and reducing the impacts of climate change.
Building on Rookwood:
Destroys 29% of Horsham’s large green space and DOESN’T enhance and protect our natural environment
Takes away valued amenities and DOESN’T keep Horsham as an attractive place to live
Destroys habitats and DOESN’T reverse the decline in species and habitats
Amputates one of our green lungs and DOESN’T reduce the impact of climate change
The Rookwood proposal is so at odds with HDC’s laudable Wilder Horsham Partnership aims that Horsham residents can be forgiven for thinking that HDC is operating like Jekyll and Hyde, and has lost sight of their own green policies!
HDC: Please banish Mr Hyde, we know you are really Dr Jekyll at heart!
